What's the benefit of Synthetic rope?
Synthetic rope, also known as hi-tech polyethylene rope, is a lot safer than steel cable and is now required in almost all major off-road competitions. Synthetic rope is considerably lighter than steel cable and doesn’t store as much energy, so it won’t fly as far if it breaks.
“No more worrying about your vehicle getting stuck in the mud or snow!”
How are Jeep winches powered?
Vehicle Recovery Winches are powered by a motor that is connected to your car’s battery or the power steering pump. The winch drum spins the rope or cable in a fast spinning motion as electricity from the vehicle’s battery is transferred via the winch engine to the gear train (or drivetrain).
What do I need with a winch?
A solid bumper or winch plate is required to fit the winch you’ve chosen. A comprehensive recovery kit, consisting of at least two appropriately rated shackles, a snatch block, a winch-line damper, gloves, and preferably a winch line extension, is also necessary.
